The City of Jersey City, Mayor Steven Fulop, the Municipal Council Members and the Office of Cultural Affairs are honored to recognize Juan Pablo Duarte Association and the Dominican-Americans on their 177th Anniversary of Independence of Dominican Republic during the Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, February 26, 2021. Anthems of both nations were played.
The Dominican community has contributed greatly in many areas of our society to the social and economic fabric through out Jersey City, Hudson County and New Jersey State. The richness of ethnic traditions and cultural ancestry of the Dominican American community serves as an example to our democratic system of values.
This momentous occasion is a reflection of camaraderie built between the United States and Dominican Republic and our enduring love for freedom, liberty and democracy that today the world is still inspired by.
