Lincoln Association of Jersey City Annual Dinner

The Lincoln Association of Jersey City cordially invites you to participate in its annual tribute to Abraham Lincoln on the anniversary of his birth, Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

At Noon, Vice President, Steven Stamos, will host the monument ceremony in honor of the Great Emancipator. A wreath will be laid at the statue of Lincoln at the entrance to Lincoln Park at Kennedy Boulevard and Belmont Avenue, Jersey City. Following Presentation of the Colors by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department and the Pledge of Allegiance, Dr. Jules Ladenheim, Past President of the Association will deliver Lincoln’s eloquent words. Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremonies.

At 6:00pm, the Association will host its One Hundred Fifty-Fourth Annual Dinner at Liberty House Restaurant, Audrey Zapp drive, Liberty State Park, Jersey City. This is a new venue for the event. The featured speaker will be Bob Gleason, a well-known interpreter of historical figures, who will portray Lincoln and discuss his challenges and achievements. Dr. Ladenheim will recite Lincoln’s famous Letter to Horace Greely, Editor of the New-York Tribune, on the subject of slavery.
