Dominican Republic Flag Raising for the 178th Anniversary of Independence Day

February 25, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

The flyer is outlined with a red boarder. Then there is a blue background with the DR flag flying across the top. The center of the page is the information for the flag raising.

The City of Jersey City, Mayor Steven Fulop, the Municipal Council Members and the Office of Cultural Affairs were honored to recognize Juan Pablo Duarte Association and the Dominican-Americans on their 178th Anniversary of Independence of Dominican Republic during the Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, February 25, 2022.  Anthems of both nations were played.

The Dominican community has contributed greatly in many areas of our society to the social and economic fabric throughout Jersey City, Hudson County and New Jersey State.  The richness of ethnic traditions and cultural ancestry of the Dominican American community serves as an example to our democratic system of values.

This momentous occasion is a reflection of camaraderie built between the United States and Dominican Republic and our enduring love for freedom, liberty and democracy that today the world is still inspired by.
