Blacks in Law Enforcement Servicing the Community (B.L.E.S.C.)  in Jersey City is a non-profit organization, a multicultural, and multi faceted group of dedicated men and women in law enforcement who serve the community even during their non-working hours. BLESC’s mission is to bring back a sense of community with a greater purpose to facilitate the power of knowledge, understanding, morality, responsibility and prosperity. The community organization B.L.E.S.C. stands for Unity and Strength.

While Black Lives Matter (BLM) is an international activist movement, originating in the African American community, that campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people. BLM movement became an organization to be a contributing voice for Black folks and allies to support changing the conditions for Black people.

Every Black person who has fought for dignity deserves the deepest bow of gratitude. Black activists and organizers are moving forward towards justice, towards visions, towards a world where families and communities are no longer the sacrifice for a better America, for a better world. We are building grassroots power with Black communities who have been left out the political process. We are building new spaces and places that tell Black stories and remind the world our everlasting contributions.

The City of Jersey City affirms both our commitment to protect and serve without discrimination everyone who resides in, works in, or visits our community; and the belief in the dignity, equality, constitutional and civil rights of all people. This momentous occasion is a reflection of the solidarity of the community of City of Jersey City  and our enduring love for freedom, liberty and democracy that today the world is still inspired by.
