Call for Art: Rotunda Gallery

The John W. Meagher Rotunda Gallery, located on the second and third floors of City Hall in Jersey City, features rotating monthly exhibits curated by the Office of Cultural Affairs and community partners. Often, we are seeking new artists to participate in shows based on a series or theme. Check this page often to learn more about our call for art, and guidelines on submitting work.

Call For Art / 3 Exhibitions

“Image, Pattern, and Texture” – January 1 – 31, 2022

Artwork fitting the exhibition theme will be accepted in all media.

Image / 1aa visual representation of something: such as (1)a likeness of an object produced on a photographic material. (2)a picture produced on an electronic display (such as a television or computer screen). 2aa mental picture or impression of something: had a positive body image.

Pattern / 1a repeated form or design especially that is used to decorate something: the dishes have a floral pattern. 2the regular and repeated way in which something happens or is done: analysts are noticing different spending patterns. 3something that happens in a regular and repeated way: find a way to break the pattern of violence.

Texture / 1athe visual or tactile surface characteristics and appearance of something:  the texture of an oil painting.

Black History Month Group Exhibition – February 20

Please send jpeg images, artist statement, and related info to Reviewing submissions in all mediums until Friday, January 28th.

Women’s History Month Group Exhibition – March 2022

Please send jpeg images, artist statement, and relatedinfo to   Reviewing submissions in all mediums until Friday, February 25th.

  1. All art should be no taller than 48 inches (horizontal measurements can be any size).
  2. All art must be ready to hang, preferably with a wire across the back of the piece.
  3. Nudity is not permitted.
  4. Work is accepted in all media, including sculpture and installation art.
