The Juneteenth Flag Raising

Juneteenth Flyer. Background depicts the Juneteenth Flag. The flag is red, white and blue which represents the American flag. There is a white star in the center .The star represents the freedom of African Americans in all 50 states. White wordage appears detailing the event.


The City of Jersey City, Mayor Steven M. Fulop, the Jersey City Municipal Council and the Office of Cultural Affairs present the Juneteenth Flag Raising. This event is co-sponsored by the Frederick Douglass Juneteenth Celebration Members of the National Juneteenth Observation Foundation.

The flag raising will be held at City Hall Balcony on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 12:00pm to 12:30pm.  All other attendees will be at City Hall Plaza on street level.

 Please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing standards. This event is FREE and open to the public.
